Step 2: Section It Off Clip your hair up and out of the way with our Grip Clips. Start with the bottom layer. Select your heat setting - 180°C/360°F is the default (your last setting will be saved for next time, love that for us). To turn it on: Plug it into a standard outlet. Short press the power button to light it up. To power off, hold the button down for 1.5 seconds. Step 3: Time to Curl Hold the tong with the side that says “This side towards head” facing your head. Take a small one-inch section of hair and place the tool a few inches from the root. Slide the top part of that section (not the ends) into the long groove and into the chamber. First time? No worries. Start with a tiny section at the back to get comfortable and find the right temperature for your hair. Choose your curl direction - clockwise or anti-clockwise - depending on the look you want. Hold down the left or right rotation button until your hair is wrapped, then let go and wait up to seven seconds. When you hear three beeps, it’s time to gently release your perfect curl.
