Stone Creek™ BH Bread Crust The Stone Creek™ BH Bread Crust is a classic Colorado trout pattern originally developed by renowned fly tier Ed Rolka. Despite its simple appearance, this highly effective bead head nymph has earned a reputation as a consistent producer throughout Rocky Mountain fisheries and remains a favorite among anglers targeting trout in rivers, streams, and tailwaters. Primarily designed to imitate a cased caddis larva, the Bread Crust presents a natural, realistic profile that trout readily recognize as food. The addition of a bead head helps the fly reach productive feeding depths quickly while adding a subtle trigger that often increases strikes. Whether fished beneath an indicator, on a euro nymph rig, or as part of a tandem setup, the BH Bread Crust continues to prove that simple patterns often catch the most fish.
