The Borealis collection is entirely handmade in Michael’s studio in t he Berkshires of Massachusetts. Featuring ceramic with a crystal glaze, the pieces are edged with platinum or gold. The collection is finished with a reactive glaze that fires slightly differently every time, adding to the unique beauty of the pieces. About the Designer:Michael Wainwright has been getting his hands dirty in clay since the age of 7. When he graduated from NYU in 1991 with a degree in clay sculpture, he didn't know what to do for a living, so he sold his handmade wares in street fairs and craft shows around New York City on weekends, carting his wares on a handtruck on the subway.
