Known to most of us as trimmed and shaped hedges à la Edward Scissorhands, living Boxtree (buxus) has a characteristic grimalkin scent not dissimilar to an odour exhibited by some black currant extractions. MANE's boxtree absolute does not have that urinous note, instead being primarily woody with complex moss and iodine nuances. It also has a very unique fruity character in the opening which hints at the scent of cooked ripe bananas. Boxtree absolute is an interesting material to use when considering one's options for replacing highly restricted oakmoss and tree moss absolutes. It is intensely green and in its normal form a solid mass similar to very high quality pure castoreum absolute. For that reason we supply it at 50% dilution in natural triethyl citrate, making it possible to use it in all natural perfumes. Origin: FrancePart: Twigs
