Brianzolo Rosso is a rare variety and there is not too much info out there about it yet. However, growers seem to agree that Brianzolo Rosso produces a good breba crop and an early main crop that makes it a good choice for short season growers. The trees are hardy, solid growers, and very productive. Brianzolo Rosso trees produce medium to large size figs with tight eyes for good pest-resistance. The Italian variety is a good choice for growers in cooler climates or anyone who wants to add a super creamy fig to their collection. The pulp has been compared to creamy custard with a complex caramel and honey flavor. Brianzolo Rosso figs grow to about medium or large size. They have a teardrop shape, which can often have quirks, bulges, and bumps. The skin is light with blushing that makes it look rosy red. Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December): We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March. **All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees. Rooted Cuttings(Spring): We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span.
