The Caffeine Boost Classic JFET is a discrete circuit that uses a single J201 JFET transistor to amplify your instrument’s signal with no tone colouration. It can be used at low se ttings as a volume leveller for your long signal chains, a temporary signal boost for guitar solos, or at higher levels to overdrive your favourite drive pedal or amplifier. It also sounds great being overdriven by another gain raising pedal, emulating the natural breakup reaction of a tube amplifier. The NEW side switch toggles a set of clipping diodes that transforms the effect into a light overdrive pedal, with either pre or post volume options selectable via internal DIP switches. At PRE setting, the Caffeine Boost delivers a uniform overdriven distorted sound, and with the POST setting, the distortion increases as the volume of the pedal is raised, emulating the natural breakup of a tube amplifier.
