As England’s oldest vineyard having been established in 1952, Hambledon is nestled in the picturesque village of Hambledon, Hampshire. Inspired by his passion for wine and after co nsultations with friends at the renowned Champagne House Pol Roger, Major-General Sir Guy Salisbury-Jones planted various grape varieties. This endeavor marked the inception of England’s first commercial range of wines. Today, the property is helmed by James Osborn and Winemaker Felix Gabillet, who aim to produce world-class English sparkling wines with minimal intervention. Produced exclusively from Hambledon's estate on the southeasterly facing chalk slopes of Windmill Down in the historic village of Hambledon, the Classic Cuvée is a blend of the three grape varieties associated with Champagne, with the blend being composed of 51% Chardonnay, 32% Pinot Noir, and 17% Pinot Meunier. In addition, 16% of that blend is composed of reserve wines from Hambledon's very own solar system. The wine was then bottle matured, on the lees for 4 years. Green apple, brioche, and lemon rind define this enjoyable fizz from one of the most exciting countries for sparkling wine production today. 12.0% ABV Show more
