Clearwood® is an all-natural product made by Firmenich to mimic the sweetest and cleanest properties of patchouli oil whilst removing anything even hinting at dirt. This is effectively a natural blend of a selection of the preferred molecules found in natural patchouli. Rich in patchouli alcohol (patchoulol), Clearwood is closest to our wonderful Patchoulol Crystals PA99 but about half the strength owing to the inclusion of other molecules. It blends wonderfully with Iso E Super and other light wood materials and can be used as a one for one replacer of natural patchouli oil. Use it in traces up to overdose. According to Firmenich: “Created from white biotechnology, Clearwood delivers all the rewards of modern ingredient design. Beaming with light, it offers the creamy warmth of amber and a dark woody character reminiscent of patchouli.” We also now offer the extraordinary Clearwood PRISMA range, launched by Firmenich in 2024. Contains 0.05% of Tocopherol as a preservative.
