This is beca use compared to a regular pickup that has an obvious bump somewhere in the midrange followed by a dramatic cut off, the Studio has an overall pretty even response. In other words, it doesn't impart its voice into your bass, rather, it brings out what you put into it. With the Code-Breaker Studio, there are 2 coils for each string. This arrangement enhances string to string definition and provides multiple wiring options. Plus, its equally at home with an active preamp as it is running passively. Individual Humbuckers. This is how Wal Bass configures their pickups. The pair of coils for each string form a humbucking pair. This arrangement makes it so that every string has its own humbucker, which increases string-to-string definition. This is the ideal setup for filter based preamps that have individual inputs for each string, like the Lusithand Double NFP Special MKII. Series/Parallel.
