The Sd.Kfz. 184 began life as the Ferdinand tank destroyer, built on the rejected Porsche Tiger chassis and armed with the devastating 8.8cm PaK 43/2 L/71 gun - the most powerful a nti-tank weapon fitted to any armoured vehicle at Kursk in 1943. After that costly debut exposed its lack of close-defence weapons, surviving vehicles were refitted with a hull machine gun and a commander's cupola and renamed Elefant for service in Italy with schwere Panzerjäger-Abteilung 653. This release is part of Dragon's 1/72 Armor Pro line, engineered for a more streamlined build than a full-detail kit while still capturing the Elefant's unmistakable slab-sided casemate hull and long overhanging gun barrel through slide-moulded parts. The kit is supplied with instructions and decals for authentic German markings, and, as with all Dragon plastic kits, still requires gluing and painting to complete.
