A high-flying nod to classic biplanes — with a touch of cutlery chaos — Da Plane is handmade from upcycled flatware: handles form the body and tail, butterknife blades make up the dual wings, and fork tines spin into a propeller. It balances on a spiral arm with a floating cloud as its counterweight, gently swaying in the breeze atop a 36” garden stake. As with all Paul’s Metal Petals pieces, each sculpture is handmade and slightly different — because no two flights (or knives) are ever quite the same. The spiral and counterweight are unfinished metal and may develop rust over time when exposed to the elements. If you’d prefer to keep them looking shiny, a quick coat of clear urethane can help protect against rust. PLEASE NOTE: We now ship all of Paul’s Petals creations with a special two-part stake to help reduce shipping costs. Because of the packaging necessary to safely ship this item, it is not eligible for free shipping.
