A hybrid stone fruit that’s 75% plum and 25% apricot, pluots have the smooth skin and succulent juiciness of a plum with the firm texture and sweetness of an apricot. Dapple Dandy is a standout taste-test winner among pluot varieties, with creamy white and red flesh and a sweet flavor that has none of the tartness typical of standard plums. The small, attractive fruits have greenish-yellow skin with red spots that mature to a maroon and yellow dapple as harvest approaches.
