Since 1992, Fincas Luis Roig has maintained a two-hectare plantation of the prized Bourbon variety in Duey, Yauco. Its strategic pruning in 2017 is credited as the reason this was among the few farms to survive Hurricane María, the Category 5 storm that struck Puerto Rico on September 20th of that year. Its isolated location has kept the plantation healthy and free of many plagues that commonly affect coffee trees. This coffee is processed at an ecological farm the same day it is harvested. A three-step classification process by size, density, and color ensures a uniform product. Sun-dried and medium roasted to highlight its best aromatic and flavor attributes.
