For Raspberry Pi CM4, see the Passive Cooler for CM4. This listing is for the ED-CM5ACOOLER: active cooler for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 (CM5). Contact us if you have questions about compatibility with your CM5 carrier board. The ED-CM5ACOOLER is an active cooling solution purpose-built for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 (CM5). Combining a precision-cut aluminium profile heatsink with an integrated temperature-controlled radial blower fan and pre-installed thermal conductive silicone, it delivers outstanding heat dissipation -- reducing CPU temperature by 27°C in a 25°C ambient environment. Easy to install with included screws and nylon gaskets, the ED-CM5ACOOLER is the essential thermal accessory for CM5-based designs running at full performance. Reviewed and recommended by Jeff Geerling, Tom's Hardware, CNX Software, and other leading Raspberry Pi media outlets. Key Features Designed for: Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 (CM5) Construction: Aluminium profile, CNC cut -- durable and excellent thermal conductivity Fan: Temperature-controlled radial blower fan -- speed automatically adjusts based on CM5 temperature via PWM control with tachometer Thermal Interface: Pre-installed thermal conductive silicone -- no paste required Cooling Coverage: Cools CM5 CPU, Wi-Fi module, and power management chip simultaneously Cooling Performance: Reduces CPU temperature by 27°C in a 25°C environment (84.3°C → 57.6°C at full CPU load) Fan Specs: 5V DC (3.5~5.5V), max 8,000 RPM ± 15%, 1.09 CFM airflow, 27.7 dB noise level, 0.75W power consumption Dimensions: 56.5 x 41 x 14.1mm (W x D x H) Weight: ~31g Installation: Screw mount with included M2.5×8 screws and nylon gaskets (1.5mm and 3mm heights included) Specifications Category Details Compatible Module Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 (CM5) Construction Aluminium profile, CNC cut Fan Type Radial blower fan, temperature-controlled Fan Speed Control Pulse width modulation (PWM) with tachometer (FG) Fan Input Voltage 5V DC (3.5~5.5V) via 4-pin fan header on motherboard Start Voltage ≥ 3.5V Max Fan Speed 8,000 RPM ± 15% (at 25°C, after 3~5 minutes running) Airflow 1.09 CFM Noise Level 27.7 dB Power Consumption 0.75W Rated Current 0.15 ± 0.02A Thermal Interface Pre-installed thermal conductive silicone Cooling Performance CPU temperature reduction of 27°C (84.3°C → 57.6°C at 25°C ambient, full CPU load via sysbench) Cooling Coverage CPU, Wi-Fi module, and power management chip Dimensions 56.5 x 41 x 14.1mm (W x D x H) Weight ~31g Installation Screw mount; 4x M2.5×8 screws, 4x M2.5×H1.5 nylon gaskets, 4x M2.5×H3 nylon gaskets included Installation Notes Remove the white protective paper from the thermal silicone before installing. Check your CM5 carrier board connector height before selecting nylon gaskets: use M2.5×H1.5 gaskets for 1.5mm connector height, or M2.5×H3 gaskets for 3mm connector height. If designing a custom case, position heatsink openings close to the blower fan air outlet for best airflow. After mounting, plug the fan power cable into the FAN connector on the motherboard.
