Edwards Vacuum Element - Adsorber - A223-04-077 This is a replacement activated carbon adsorber element carrying Edwards Vacuum part number A223-04-077. Edwards is a vacuum pump ma nufacturer, and adsorber cartridges in this range are fitted to the filtration housings used on vacuum pump systems, where the carbon holds oil vapor and odor rather than straining out solids. Carbon and mechanical filtration are complementary, not interchangeable. A carbon bed adsorbs vapor and is spoiled by liquid, so it is installed behind a mechanical stage.
