Eton 4 Flat Panel Fire DoorThe Eton fire door keeps the same clean four flat panel face as the standard Eton, its square-set panels carrying the classic Victorian four panel layout. It sits within our Victorian oak doors, and like every genuine fire door it is not solid oak; it is faced in oak veneer over a solid, fire-resisting core, so the natural oak grain sits over the material that does the fire work.It is supplied unfinished and ready to hang once treated, at 44mm thick in a range of standard widths, with a trimming allowance of up to 15mm on each edge. The core gives a reassuringly solid, stable door, and it sits neatly against oak skirting and architrave in a matching tone. The oak veneer is FSC certified and the door carries a 10 year guarantee against manufacturing defects.The Eton is rated FD30, tested to resist the spread of fire for up to 30 minutes and third-party certified under the BM TRADA Q-Mark scheme. A fire door only performs to its rating as part of a complete, fitted set, so it should hang as a full set with a fire-rated frame or lining, the correct fire-rated hinges, and intumescent strips and smoke seals around the leaf.It hangs on standard hinges and takes a lever handle; match the fire-rated ironmongery from our door handles and hardware.Being unfinished, the door must be sealed on every face and edge before use, including the hinge, latch and handle cut-outs and any trimmed edge, then topped up over time.
