Dan Marioni Sonoma, California, USA Roughly equal parts, Zinfandel, Petit Sirah and Carignan with a small amount of Barbera blended in. The grapes for Fields were sourced from Testa vineyard in the Mendocino County AVA. Testa vineyard in Calpella has been in the Testa family for five generations, founded by Gaetano and Maria Testa in 1912. The Carignan vines here are nearing centennial age and along with all the other Testa vines, have been dry-farmed from the beginning. The grapes here were de-stemmed into open-top fermenters, manually punched down and pressed into neutral French oak barrels. Cranberry, blackberry, citrus, and earth are well defined here with gentle tannins meeting the acidity on the palate.
