The strength of floating shelf brackets depends primarily on the wall fixings and wall type where they are mounted, as well as the shelf size—deeper shelves reduce weight capacity. Brackets should be installed 50-60cm apart. The overall shelf weight must be factored into the total load supported by your installation. Each single floating shelf bracket supports up to 30kg per pair when spaced at 50cm intervals and securely fixed into solid brick or cement walls with appropriate hardware. The bracket base measures 80mm wide by 35mm deep and is made from 3mm thick galvanized steel, featuring four slotted holes for fine adjustment. The supporting tube is 155mm long and 18mm in diameter, suitable for shelves 40mm thick or more and up to 300mm deep for optimal capacity (note: capacity declines with increasing shelf depth). For longer shelves, fit one bracket per stud in hollow walls, or every 500mm in solid walls. Hollow wall anchors are available for gyprock cavity walls; at least two are required per bracket, but capacity will then be limited by wall sheeting strength. Always test your installation’s load capacity before use. Properly installed brackets show no movement between the base plate and wall under load.
