Perhaps best-known for its exceptional water-clear Fluorite crystals, the Nikolaevskiy mine at Dal'negorsk in far eastern Russia also produced some coloured varieties, notably pale greens and purples. This lovely very large miniature to smaller cabinet-sized plate, presents a fine, lavender-coloured complex aggregate of cubo-octahedral Fluorite crystals sat, like an island upon a thin piece of beige coloured matrix. This Fluorite grouping reaches over 2.6 cm across and is in excellent condition. A few cream coloured Calcite crystals are in association, dotted upon the matrix, but away from the Fluorite. Ex Arvid Pasto Collection, this piece most likely dates to the 1990s when specimens from this remote mine reached the western mineral market. Show more
