Making the most of available feed in a drought is imperative. Standing dry feed is a good feed resource, but on its own it is really just a filler, lacking key nutrients that allow the rumen to turn that dry feed into protein and energy for your animals. Stock often look really good when grazing this type of feed, with high NDF they look full and without the challenges of lush green feed their coats look shiny. Unfortunately this doesn't turn into performance and weighing them can be a disappointing time. Forage Balancer® – Drought is designed to allow the rumen microbes to unlock the feed value in dry standing forage or hay. Concentrated carbohydrates 'kick start' rumen fermentation and when combined with some NPN (non protein nitrogen) it allows rumen microbes to grow.
