The transition from dry and pregnant to giving birth and lactation is a major challenge for our animals. At this time they are undergoing major physiological and metabolic changes and the need for critical nutrients is dramatically increased. Sometimes many of the symptoms of this challenge are hidden and other times they are obvious – ketosis, milk fever, sleepy sickness, down cows and so on.
