The Rheem-Ruud FP-02 Conversion Kit is a critical field-service component designed for the seamless transition of gas furnaces and heating units from Natural Gas to Liquid Propane (LP). As a direct cross-reference and functional replacement for the FP-02-1PK, this kit ensures precise fuel metering and safe combustion path adjustments. The conversion process requires swapping the original burner orifices and adjusting the regulator spring settings to accommodate the higher energy density and pressure requirements of propane. This OEM-grade gas furnace conversion kit is engineered for high-performance reliability, maintaining flame stability and preventing carbon buildup within the heat exchanger. For contractors performing retrofits, this LP gas conversion kit provides the exact tolerances required by manufacture specifications to ensure the manifold pressure meets the nameplate requirements. Utilizing the Rheem replacement parts catalog ensures compatibility with specific furnace series, maintaining the integrity of the fuel delivery system without compromising efficiency or safety protocols on the job site. Direct Cross-Compatibility: Exact replacement for the FP-02-1PK, ensuring a perfect fit with existing gas valves. Optimized Combustion: Precision-drilled orifices maintain the correct air-to-fuel ratio for clean LP firing. Industrial Build Quality: High-tolerance brass components resist corrosion and thermal stress during heavy cycles. System Reliability: Eliminates the risk of soot accumulation or uneven heating associated with aftermarket kits. What is the difference between FP-02 and FP-02-1PK? The FP-02 is the bulk-packaged equivalent of the FP-02-1PK; they are technically identical and interchangeable for all specified furnace applications. Can this kit be used for high-altitude LP conversions? Standard LP conversion kits are typically rated for 0-2,000 feet; check the specific furnace manifold pressure charts as high-altitude applications may require different orifice sizing. Is a regulator spring included in this conversion kit? Yes, the kit typically includes the necessary regulator spring and orifices required to modify the gas valve for propane operation.
