This binder is handmade in Los Angeles using our compression knit with antimicrobial and moisture management treatments. It was very carefully designed to have strong seams, clean finishes, and no rough areas or tags to scratch or irritate the skin. The two layers of fabric in the front work to compress and softly flatten the chest without making it hard to breathe. VERS VERSION: Short for "versatile," our Verse version is our current solution to the supply issue we're having getting fabric in the original quality. The Vers fabric has a similar elasticity to the Original, if not slightly lower, so it offers good compression/flatness. It however is not as plush, so it's not a very thick fabric and isn't quite as soft. Being less plush does give it some advantages! The lighter weight makes it more breathable and faster drying, so it should be fantastic for swim and exercise while offering a better bind than the Active Top. The Vers fabric also has a moisture-wicking finish and built-in UV50+ protection from the sun. That's why we want to call it Vers, because it will be versatile for all sorts of activities! The Vers version has gotten updated sizing and should closely match our size chart. ORIGINAL VERSION: For many years we had been making these soft binders with fabric from the same mill. Unfortunately, that mill has recently become unreliable and we are struggling to find another supplier that can make fabric exactly the same as our original quality. So our original inventory may start to sell out. Most of our reviews for this product are for the original compression level. The original fabric has antimicrobial properties and a moisture-wicking finish. Plus sizes in the Original fabric may run small compared to the size chart / other versions. LIGHTWEIGHT AND FLEX VERSION: The Flex fabric is the same weight as our original compression material, so it is still soft/plush, but is stretchier and less rigid than the original version. The lightweight fabric is also more stretchy as well as a bit lighter-weight than our original fabric, more like the swim fabric we use for the Active Top and Tucking Bikini. Since this does affect the fit and feel of the binder, we have decided to label items made with these fabrics as "Flex" and "Lightweight" to show a distinction between them and our original soft binders. These may feel looser, especially in larger sizes, due to the stretch. Compression tops with good stretch are better for exercise. The lightweight version is also going to dry faster, making it better for cardio and swim - though we don't recommend swimming in the white color. The lighter-weight fabric will be more breathable, but is also thinner. The generous length (these are 22.5-30" long from the shoulder to the bottom hem, depending on the size) allows this tank to be tucked into pants and prevent spillage. People with wide hips may find that the bottom will want to roll up a bit, so we've had shirt-tuck suspender garters made to help with this issue! FOR THOSE BETWEEN SIZES:If you have broad shoulders/chest (so most of that measurement is ribcage, not breast tissue), or get claustrophobic/anxiety or back pain from binding, I'd recommend the larger size. If you have a small frame and larger cup size or very soft tissue, the smaller size will likely work much better! If you still aren't sure, go with the smaller one and we can exchange for a different size if needed.
