Calling all Glass Enthusiasts! OGC is welcoming artist in residence Dan Alexander, a renowned glass artist who specializes in creating optical illusions in his large-scale pieces using intricate colour designs with advanced bar and murrine techniques. Dan’s resume is packed with impressive experience, including studying with Maestro Davide Salvadore in Murano, Italy, and being a lead gaffer at the Corning Museum of Glass, just to name a couple. Nowadays, through his non-profit studio Art, Education, Gathering Inc. (St. Petersburg, Florida), Dan is no stranger to strengthening the community through artist education and outreach. Over the 3 days, students will learn about the unique techniques that Dan uses to create his masterpieces. There is also an Advanced workshop available as well as opportunities to observe Dan create pieces of his own during the week while he is visiting. three - 8hr classes $399 + hst per student (non-member) OR $349 + hst per student (member) 4 students per class This workshop, suitable for all levels of glass blowers, will focus on basic shapes and colour techniques.
