Dated 1863 on the lower left hand portion and initialled "MM" on the lower right, this German trunk was a significant wedding piece in days gone by. The trunk is made of oak and fe atures a metal latch with a large, square escutcheon. A metal binding wraps over the domed top of the trunk.
