Exposed Bulb Socket in Porcelain This industrial socket is made out of ceramic porcelain with a premium glossy off-white glaze and comes with a metal cap that is also featured on our porcelain cord plug-in set. For a clean look, the cap of the socket is secured with included screws from the inside of the socket. Our porcelain socket is also easily paired with our cloth covered wire sold by the foot. However, if you plan on making a DIY light cord with this socket, we highly recommend using a cord grip/strain relief for a secure attachment. Cord grips are sold separately. With all lighting projects and DIY fixture assembly, we always recommend consulting a licensed electrician. Please note, the white cord grips do not match the off-white porcelain, we recommend using the clear cord grips, which seem to match the best with this socket or contrast with a black strain relief. The porcelain socket is not intended to be paired with shades. However, it is compatible with some cages and paper lanterns, but it is important to confirm before purchasing.
