Basic Teapot Tenmoku The “Basic” series features essential tableware for rice and tea, staples of Japanese cuisine. With a familiar and timeless design, this series has been in production since the 1970s. The compact “teapot” is easy to carry, even when filled with tea, making it perfect for everyday tea drinking. The exterior boasts a luxurious traditional Tenmoku glaze, with a rust-colored rim that gives the teapot a refined appearance. The interior is finished with white porcelain, allowing you to easily see the amount of tea inside. A porcelain tea strainer is built into the spout, and the “Basic Teapot” is compatible with additional strainers. There is a “vent hole” in the handle, which is a necessary part of the production process. However, when using a dishwasher or soaking the teapot, water may enter the hole and leak out during subsequent use.
