Vehicles with unique trunks, including truck tailgates and rear mounted spare tires, can improve rear access with a hitch adapter. By extending VelociRAX hitch racks back 4 inches and down 3.5 inches, most tailgates can fully open and spare tires can live freely on your vehicle while the rack is in the load position. Hitch adapters have a built-in anti-rattle system, also used with VelociRAX hitch racks, to eliminate rack movement. Installing a VelociRAX bike rack on other hitch adapters is not recommended due to our unique anti-rattle ability.
