A rounded vase showcasing the characteristic drama of horsehair Raku. As the piece emerged glowing from the kiln, individual strands of horsehair left sweeping carbon trails, feath ering, and smoke etching across the soft ivory surface. Sugar granules left speckling patterns. The form’s gentle taper highlights these organic markings—some bold and branching, others subtle and atmospheric. Each rotation reveals a different constellation of smoke patterns, giving the vessel a quietly dynamic presence. As with all Raku-fired pottery this item is for display only. It is not watertight nor food-safe. Note: there is a small mark of bright blue glaze on the lower portion where this piece was "kissed" by a kiln-mate. Show more
