Hiwonder JetAcker ROS Robot Kit JetAcker is an Ackermann-steering robot platform for learning and prototyping with ROS, LiDAR mapping, navigation, depth vision and interactive robotics. Select a Kit level for the sensors and peripherals you need, then select the controller option separately. The 28 Shopify variants preserve this two-part choice. Choose the Right Kit Starter Kit Includes the SLAMTEC A1 LiDAR configuration and core Ackermann robot platform. It does not include a 3D depth camera, 7-inch LCD or microphone array. Standard Kit Adds the 3D depth camera to the SLAMTEC A1 LiDAR configuration. The 7-inch LCD and microphone array are not included. Advanced Kit Includes SLAMTEC A1 LiDAR, 3D depth camera, 7-inch LCD and microphone array. Ultimate Kit Includes EAI G4 LiDAR, 3D depth camera, 7-inch LCD and microphone array. The official kit matrix lists large-model learning functions for Advanced and Ultimate kits when a Jetson Orin Nano or Jetson Orin NX controller is selected. This is a configuration requirement, not a feature of every variant. Ackermann Chassis & Suspension JetAcker uses an Ackermann steering layout with front-wheel steering and a pendulum suspension system. The chassis combines a full-metal aluminum-alloy bracket, four 100mm solid-rubber wheels, two 520 encoder geared motors, an HTS-20H steering servo and a 240-degree pan-tilt. This layout is intended to make steering geometry, encoder feedback and robot motion control tangible in ROS projects. LiDAR Mapping & Navigation With the LiDAR fitted by the selected kit, JetAcker is presented for mapping and navigation workflows including gmapping, Hector, Karto and Cartographer, plus fixed-point navigation, TEB and DWA path planning, obstacle avoidance and LiDAR tracking. Mapping quality and navigation behavior depend on setup, calibration, environment and the selected sensor. The Starter, Standard and Advanced kits use SLAMTEC A1 LiDAR; the Ultimate Kit uses EAI G4 LiDAR. The official comparison lists distinct range and resolution characteristics for the two sensors, so select the kit for the sensing capability required by the project. Depth Vision & Voice Hardware The Standard, Advanced and Ultimate kits include the 3D depth camera for RGB-D data, point-cloud workflows, RTAB-VSLAM, visual tracking and perception experiments. The depth camera is not included with the Starter Kit. The microphone array and 7-inch LCD are included only with Advanced and Ultimate kits. These add hardware for voice-interaction, sound-localization and display-based projects; they are not included with Starter or Standard kits. Controller Selection Choose one of the controller options shown in the variant selector: Without Controller, Raspberry Pi 5 8GB, Jetson Nano 4GB, Jetson Orin Nano Super 4GB or 8GB, or Jetson Orin NX Super 8GB or 16GB. The controller option is independent of the selected Kit. Choosing Without Controller supplies no Raspberry Pi or Jetson board; the buyer is responsible for a compatible board and software environment. Learning Resources JetAcker Orin Nano documentation covers the Orin Nano version, including motion control, LiDAR, ROS2 depth vision, mapping and navigation, OpenCV, voice control, MoveIt and Gazebo. It applies to the Orin Nano configuration, not automatically to every controller option. Hiwonder JetAcker GitHub repository provides the Jetson Nano project resources for ROS1 and ROS2. It is intended for the Jetson Nano configuration. FAQ Which kit includes the 3D depth camera? The Standard, Advanced and Ultimate kits include the depth camera. The Starter Kit does not. Which kit includes the LCD screen and microphone array? Only the Advanced and Ultimate kits include the 7-inch LCD and microphone array. Which LiDAR is included with each kit? Starter, Standard and Advanced use the SLAMTEC A1 configuration. Ultimate uses EAI G4. LiDAR is determined by the Kit selection. Does every variant include a controller? No. Variants marked Without Controller do not include a Raspberry Pi or Jetson board. Select a named controller option when a board is required. Which configuration is listed for large-model learning functions? The official kit matrix lists these functions for Advanced or Ultimate kits with a Jetson Orin Nano or Jetson Orin NX controller selected. Do the linked documentation and repository apply to all variants? No. The documentation link is for the Orin Nano version, while the repository is for the Jetson Nano project. Use the resource that matches the selected controller.
