Remote Emergency Key Access | 3-Key Capacity | Electronic Remote Release The Burton Keyguard Remote Key Safe is a specialist emergency-access key safe designed to provide secure, controlled access to essential keys and information when they are needed most. Unlike a conventional key safe, the Keyguard Remote can be connected to a compatible external control or alarm system, allowing the door to be released remotely through its built-in electronic strike. This makes it particularly suitable for commercial buildings, critical infrastructure and other locations where emergency services such as the Fire & Rescue Service, Ambulance Service or Police may need rapid access to keys during an emergency. Remote Emergency Access The principal advantage of the Keyguard Remote is its ability to be opened remotely. The safe incorporates an electronic strike that can be connected to a suitable external control system. When activated, access to the safe can be released remotely, allowing authorised personnel or emergency services to retrieve the keys held inside. This can help provide emergency access to a building or restricted area without requiring keys to be left in a conventional externally accessible key box. LED Remote-Release Indicator When the safe is released remotely, a built-in LED indicator illuminates, providing a clear visual indication that the door can be opened. This is particularly useful for emergency services arriving at a site, allowing them to identify when remote access has been authorised. High-Security 7-Lever Slam Lock In addition to remote operation, the Keyguard Remote incorporates a high-security 7-lever slam lock for conventional key access. The slam-locking mechanism allows the door to be securely closed without requiring the key to be used again to lock it. This provides a practical combination of remote emergency release and conventional authorised key access. Storage for Up to Three Keys The internal compartment incorporates three key hooks, providing organised storage for essential access keys. Typical uses could include: Main building entrance keys Plant-room keys Electrical or utility-room keys Security gate keys Restricted-area keys Emergency access keys The compartment can also be used for small items of critical access information where appropriate. Secure Wall Installation The Keyguard Remote incorporates a front security flange, which provides additional protection and helps create a neat finish around the wall aperture. The unit is supplied with 3/8-inch fixing holes in the sides, allowing it to be securely bolted into the wall. Correct installation is particularly important with an emergency-access safe, and the surrounding wall structure should be suitable for securely supporting and protecting the unit. Optional Door Monitoring An optional micro-switch can be installed to provide additional monitoring of the safe. The micro-switch can be configured to trigger a remote alarm or monitoring system when the door is opened. This provides the potential for a building-management or security system to identify when the emergency key safe has been accessed. Installation Options Burton offers additional installation accessories for the Keyguard Remote, including: Surface Mount Shroud Provides a neat and protected finish where the safe is surface mounted. Surface Mount Weather Enclosure Provides additional protection when the Keyguard Remote is installed externally in a surface-mounted application. Flush Mount Weather Enclosure Designed to provide additional weather protection for suitable flush-mounted external installations. The appropriate installation method and accessories should be selected according to the location and intended use of the safe. Durable Commercial Construction The Keyguard Remote is designed for demanding professional applications and features: Stainless-steel pull handle Durable powder-coated finish Front security flange Secure wall-fixing provision Electronic remote-release mechanism High-security mechanical locking Alternative RAL colours can also be specified, subject to availability and minimum-order requirements. Ideal for Emergency & Critical Access The Burton Keyguard Remote is particularly suited to locations where rapid access by authorised personnel may be essential during an emergency. Typical applications include: Commercial premises Offices and corporate buildings Industrial facilities Warehouses Schools and universities Healthcare facilities Utilities Data centres Critical infrastructure Apartment and residential developments Plant and equipment rooms Gated premises SafeFort Recommendation The Burton Keyguard Remote Key Safe is a specialist solution for organisations that need to provide controlled emergency access to essential keys. Its major advantage over a conventional key safe is the ability to connect the built-in electronic strike to a compatible external control system, allowing access to be released remotely when required. The illuminated LED then provides a clear indication to attending personnel that the safe has been released and can be opened. This makes the Keyguard Remote particularly useful at commercial buildings, industrial facilities, utilities and critical infrastructure where the Fire & Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, Police or other authorised personnel may require rapid access during an emergency. For installations requiring additional monitoring, SafeFort would recommend considering the optional micro-switch, which allows the opening of the safe to be signalled to a compatible remote alarm or monitoring system. Where the unit is being installed externally, the appropriate weather enclosure should also be specified according to whether the installation is surface or flush mounted. The Keyguard Remote should be viewed as a specialist emergency-access system rather than a conventional domestic combination key safe, and the remote-release and monitoring arrangements should be incorporated into the building's wider access-control, security or emergency-response system. There is a minimum order of 20 units on this product.
