This intermediate-level course is designed for students who already have a foundation in pattern drafting and are ready to expand their skills through more advanced pattern development techniques. Throughout the course, students will learn how to manipulate and transform basic blocks into a variety of custom garment designs while gaining a deeper understanding of pattern engineering and garment construction. Instruction will cover advanced pattern transformation techniques for skirts, bodices, sleeves, and pants, along with sewing methods used to bring these designs from paper to finished garments. Prerequisites Students must meet one of the following requirements: Successful completion of Complete Pattern Making Course – Level 1, or Possess their own well-fitting basic block patterns (slopers) for skirts, bodices, sleeves, and pants What You'll Learn Advanced pattern transformation techniques Design variations for skirts, bodices, sleeves, and pants Pattern adjustment and development Garment construction and sewing methods Converting basic blocks into finished garment patterns Materials Required Students must bring their own basic block patterns or have previously completed the Level 1 course. All pattern-making and sewing tools should be brought to class unless otherwise specified.
