Prerequisites: Level 1- Wheel Throwing Foundations, or, previous experience with clay. It is expected that students understand how to wedge clay, and to center clay on the wheel, although they may not be proficient yet. Students should have some ability to pull a wall up. Students with no prior clay experience may struggle in this class. DESCRIPTION:This class is where the potter can learn to throw, trim, and glaze the three main shapes of pottery. This class is intended for anyone who wants to hone their skills with throwing mugs, bowls and small plates. Class fee includes one bag of clay (M340 or M340S), all firings and studio dipping glazes, as well as access to our classroom tools. Additional clay is available for purchase from our website and we will provide you with a link for purchasing in our "Welcome" email sent prior to the start of your class. No outside clay is permitted. Additional practice time is also available (see below).Classes are three hours in length and run for six weeks. Total class time is 18 hours. PRACTICE TIME:Students will have 24/7 access to the studio. Students will be able to use the classroom wheels when a class is not in session. Please refer to the Classroom Calendar for further information. Students will need to provide their own tools if practicing outside of class time.CANCELLATIONS and REFUNDS Classes cancelled within 72 hours of the start date are subject to a refund or credit only if a replacement is found for your signup. Classes cancelled anytime prior to 72 hours from the start date are subject to a 5% cancellation fee to cover our processing fees. Alternatively, you may request your refund be given in a Gift Card in which case there are no fees and the entire amount will be refunded to a gift card for you to use towards a future class. Classes are subject to cancellation by Fired Clay in the case of low enrollment. If classes are cancelled by Fired Clay, you will receive a full refund, including processing fees.
