Liberty is a wonderful, scab-resistant variety developed at the Geneva Research Station in the 1960s. It is descended from Macoun, and likewise, Liberty fruits have mottled deep re d and yellow smooth skin and yellow-toned flesh. Very sweet flavor, with pleasing tartness; excellent for fresh eating or baking. This root stock leads to "semi-dwarf" fruit tree size, which is typically 15-20 feet high.
