Description Mini ToF Unit is an ultra-compact Time of Flight ranging module based on the VL53L0X laser ranging sensor. Its laser emission module is rotated by 90 degrees, enabling horizontal forward detection with a 25 degree field of view in a small 24.0 x 24.0 x 8.0mm unit. The Mini ToF Unit measures targets from 3 to 200cm with plus/minus 3% typical accuracy, 1mm resolution, a 940nm Class 1 VCSEL laser source, and fast response through I2C communication at address 0x29. The standard HY2.0-4P Grove connector makes it easy to integrate with M5Stack controllers and sensor projects. With Arduino, UiFlow1, and UiFlow2 support, this Mini ToF Unit is suitable for robot obstacle detection, smart home sensing, short-range presence detection, security monitoring, and intelligent transportation experiments that require compact forward distance sensing. Note: Under normal conditions, the maximum measurable distance is 120cm. To reach the maximum 200cm range, enable Long Range Mode and use the sensor in a dark environment with minimal infrared interference. Intelligent transportation experiments and classroom projects using I2C distance data. Product List 1 x Unit Mini ToF-90 1 x HY2.0-4P Grove connection cable, 5cm Other Content The module is built for forward-facing distance measurement. Compared with a standard straight-facing ToF module, the 90 degree optical arrangement lets the Mini ToF Unit detect objects in front of a mounted device while keeping the unit body flat against the project surface. The documentation provides a schematic PDF, VL53L0X datasheet, Arduino driver library, Arduino test program, and UiFlow1 and UiFlow2 references for integrating the sensor into M5Stack projects. For stable measurements near the upper end of the range, keep strong infrared interference away from the sensor and use Long Range Mode when the project needs to approach 200cm detection.
