The MAMAC Systems CT-800 Current Switch offers building automation professionals a high-performance, solid-core current monitoring solution for verifying the operational status of critical HVACR equipment. This self-powered current switch operates via induction, eliminating the need for external power supplies and reducing wiring complexity on the job site. With a 0.5 Amp fixed setpoint, the CT-800 provides a crisp digital output to your BAS/EMS whenever the monitored circuit exceeds the trip threshold. The solid-state relay output is designed for long-term reliability in demanding industrial environments, featuring zero off-state leakage and isolation up to 1,000 VAC. For technicians dealing with low-current loads, the effective trip point can be lowered by looping the conductor through the 0.75-inch sensing window. Whether you are monitoring supply and exhaust fans, circulating pumps, or lighting circuits, the CT-800 series ensures accurate HVAC equipment status indication without the expense of mechanical pressure switches or complex relay interlocks. Key Benefits for Contractors: Induction-Powered Reliability: The self-powered design draws all necessary operating energy directly from the monitored line, simplifying installation and reducing failure points. Versatile Output Switching: Rated for up to 135 VAC/VDC, the solid-state output integrates seamlessly with most DDC controllers, SCADA systems, and industrial PLCs. Rugged Solid-Core Construction: Built with UL 94-V-0 flame-retardant ABS plastic, the solid-core current sensor is designed to withstand a wide operating temperature range from 32°F to 158°F. Status Visibility: Provides an immediate digital signal for Go/No-Go status monitoring of motors, compressors, and unit ventilators. Compact Footprint: Low-profile housing and integrated mounting flanges allow for fast installation inside crowded motor control centers or electrical panels. Common Questions: Can I use the CT-800 to monitor a motor drawing less than 0.5 Amps? Yes. While the switch has a fixed 0.5 Amp setpoint, you can increase sensitivity for smaller loads by wrapping the conductor through the sensing window multiple times. Passing the wire through twice effectively drops the trip point to 0.25 Amps. What is the maximum current this switch can handle on the primary wire? The MAMAC CT-800 is designed to monitor AC circuits up to 200 Amps. The internal transformer is highly robust and intended for standard 45-65 Hz industrial and commercial power monitoring applications. Does this switch require a specific orientation when mounting? No, the solid-core design and mounting flanges allow for installation in any orientation. However, ensure the conductor is centered within the window for the most consistent induction and performance.
