The MAMAC Systems CT-815 Current Switch is a high-performance, split-core current sensor designed for accurate status monitoring of HVACR equipment, including supply fans, pumps, and compressors. Engineered for field flexibility, this self-powered current switch features an adjustable setpoint ranging from 1.5 to 200 Amps, allowing technicians to fine-tune the trip point via a precision trimmer to match specific load requirements. The split-core architecture enables seamless installation on existing conductors without disconnecting wiring, significantly reducing labor time during retrofits. With an induction-powered circuit, the CT-815 requires no external power supply, providing a clean SPST solid-state output rated up to 135 VAC/VDC. This eliminates the need for interlock relays in automation systems. An integrated LED provides immediate visual confirmation of load status, while the NEMA 1 rated, flame-retardant ABS housing ensures long-term durability in demanding mechanical environments. This unit is essential for verifying motor operation and detecting belt loss or mechanical failure in real-time. Key Benefits Simplified Installation: The split-core design allows for quick clamping onto conductors without breaking the circuit. Broad Compatibility: Seamlessly integrates with EMS, SCADA, and building automation controllers. High Amperage Range: Handles a wide monitored AC current range from 1.5 to 200 Amps for versatile application across various motor sizes. Maintenance-Free Operation: Being self-powered via induction, it eliminates the complexity of external wiring and battery replacements. Small Form Factor: Compact 0.75-inch window size fits easily within crowded electrical panels and starter boxes. Common Questions How do I adjust the trip point on the CT-815? The trip setpoint is field-adjustable using the onboard potentiometer. For load status monitoring, typically turn the trimmer until the LED status indicator illuminates while the motor is running at normal load. Can this switch be used for DC current monitoring? No, the CT-815 is designed specifically for AC current monitoring. However, its solid-state output is capable of switching both AC and DC control circuits up to 135V. Is an external power supply required for the sensor? No, the internal circuitry is completely powered by induction from the conductor being monitored, ensuring a true two-wire installation for the output switch.
