Item Name: Medium Bicones SKU: CGB-BR-20 Description: Medium Bicones are graphite forming tools with a bicone cavity used to shape hot glass into consistent tapered forms. The tool is machined from graphite, which handles direct flame contact and provides a smooth, non-sticking surface when the glass is worked at the proper temperature. In lampworking, bicone shapes are commonly used for beads, spacers, and components that need clean symmetry and repeatable sizing. A bicone tool helps you quickly establish the overall profile, refine the taper on both ends, and keep sets of beads uniform when you are producing matched pairs or small production runs. How it is used: Warm the graphite in a neutral flame to drive off moisture and reduce thermal shock. Bring the gather to a smooth, even heat, then roll and press it gently into the bicone cavity to establish the profile. Reheat and repeat as needed, using light pressure and frequent rotation to keep the bead centered and symmetrical. Use the cavity size that matches your target bead diameter and length, then finish shaping and detailing in the flame before annealing. Dimensions: Cavity sizes in millimeters: 12mm x 40mm 13mm x 45mm 14mm x 50mm
