It is made from solid oak throughout, the same wo od all the way through rather than an oak face over a manufactured core, so it has the weight, natural variation and lasting character of real solid oak.The face carries the run of horizontal grooves that define the Mexicano look, a simple, contemporary detail that settles just as easily into a modern home as a traditional one. It arrives pre-sanded and is straightforward to fit. For an opening outside the standard range, it is also available made to measure.Because it is solid oak throughout, the door can be sanded back and re-treated over its life, and trimmed to fit. Oak moves a little with the seasons, so leave a small gap for expansion when fitting.The door is supplied unfinished, ready to seal to suit the room. Use a suitable hardwax oil such as Treatex, which is made for solid oak doors, or add our oiling service and have it treated before delivery.
