Emidio Pepe is the benchmark producer for Montepulciano and Trebbiano is the Italian region of Abruzzo, and some of his wine are the most age-worthy in all of Italy. Pepe was a pio neer in Italian biodynamic winemaking, and has remained at the forefront of natural winemaking. Red grapes are amazingly crushed by hand, and whites are foot crushed in the traditional manner. Fermentations occur in cement and bottle maturations are standard prior to release.
