This Napa Valley Chardonnay is primarily sourced from the Carneros growers Lee Hudson and Larry Hyde, with additions from the Coombsville vineyard of Warren Winiarski. A Chardonnay of tension and mineral energy which never sacrifices its opulence. Expect honeyed citrus, peaches, and tropical fruits, sea spray, and custard. Fifth generation Napa natives, John and Maggy Kongsgaard began their wine endeavor by planting the Judge vineyard to Chardonnay in the 1970s on family land in the hills east of Napa. 1996 was their inaugural vintage, and soon they were joined by Alex Kongsgaard and Evan Frazier, both of whom are winemakers. Their production is limited to what Alex, Evan and John can make with their own hands. Their intensely farmed, shy-bearing vineyards and their archaic, low-intervention winemaking practices produce powerful, graceful wines that have achieved legendary status. 14.1% ABV
