This remarkable Quincy mine Native Copper displays magnificent individual Native Copper crystals. With support, the specimen stands dramatically upright showing off its wonderful c rystal form. Patches of white Calcite accompany the Native Copper, but it is the Quartz alongside that is far more interesting. A layer of millimetre-sized bipyramidal glassy Quartz crystals, some colourless, some pale green with Epidote inclusions, surrounds the edges of the Native Copper. The Native Copper has a distinctive reddish to reddish-orange hue and duller metallic lustre, possibly relating a partial thin coating of Cuprite.
