"We have built here a noble hall of music. It is merely material structure of brick and stone and steel. We have not and cannot put into this building its living soul. That is a task for other hands than ours." — George G. Adam, President of The Orchestral Association, 1904 Orchestra Hall was designed by Chicago Symphony Orchestra trustee and renowned architect Daniel H. Burnham. The hall first opened its doors on December 14, 1904, with a dedicatory concert led by Theodore Thomas, the Orchestra's founder and first music director. Since then, the stage has been graced by the greatest names in classical music and jazz and continues to be a staple of the Chicago classical music scene today. In this exclusive collaboration between the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Opus Haus, you can take the iconic architecture of Orchestra Hall home. Printed on museum-quality matte paper, this poster will add a wonderful, music-themed accent to any room.
