We have restored this lovely piece by carefully hand-stripping the shelves before applying a clear lacquer to accentuate the grain of the wood and provide protection. The main frame of this bookcase has been painted in old white to provide an attractive contrast to the natural wood. This bookcase is predominantly constructed from compressed wood. The fluted decorations on either side and the attractive crown are made from mango wood. The back panel is plywood.
