A 90% complete Stuart 5A, missing only the flywheel and cylinder lagging. The engine is tight to turn over although without tight spots, if you appreciate the distinction - I suspe ct stripping and careful reassembly is required. The main bearing caps have yet to be drilled through for oilers, on the whole standard of workmanship looks good. The 5A is a large engine of robust design, much used in small full-sized steam boats. Stuart rate it at 1 1/2 bhp at 100psi.
