Patchone has a dry, woody, distinctly patchouli-like character with a camphoraceous bite and subtle leathery warmth. It reads as the stripped-back, structural side of patchouli — t he woody earthiness without the sweet, fruity top notes. A balsamic, pine-like quality rounds out the profile and keeps it from feeling too austere. Use patchone as a patchouli modifier or replacement in your woody, oriental, and chypre compositions. It dries down floral notes effectively, adding structure and earthy depth. Combine it with richer patchouli materials to extend and sharpen the woody base of your accords. Blend with patchouli oil and vetiver for a deep, earthy woody foundation. Try it alongside cedarwood and Iso E Super for a modern transparent woody base. Pair with rose and violet materials where its drying effect creates elegant contrast between floral sweetness and woody depth. Show more
