Not an unus ual sight, by any means. For a time, it sat on a sand bank and sunned itself, as they do, just long enough for a passerby to snap a photo. Gator physiology is unique in itself. Spiked scutes line their backs. Marble eyes. Often missing limbs from inter-species attacks. Dead calm until they sense being threatened; their bodies burst into action, thrash violently, and escape back into the depths. But this one was even more unique. “Special” may be the right word.
