Our restoration workshop has carefully stripped the original varnish from this intricate piece before applying a matt lacquer finish that beautifully enhances the natural character of the oak and provides protection. This cabinet is constructed from solid oak. The shelves are plywood, and the shelf supports have been added recently and were not part of the original construction. It should be noted from the photographs that there are a few stains and marks across this piece due to its years of faithful service, and a small crack on the top surface, providing plenty of character. These are merely cosmetic imperfections and do not affect the structural integrity of this cabinet. This characterful piece will complement a range of styles and interiors.
