The sole is then worked from toe back to heel, creating a smooth, wraparound fit. Once the knitting is done, the top and sole are joined with mattress stitch, the heel is seamed horizontally, and an applied i-cord finishes the opening with a clean edge. A gentle wash and felt brings everything together.
