Valentine was a Roman priest around the year 300, during a time when Christianity was outlawed. Legend has it that Valentine secretly performed Christian weddings in defiance of th e law. For that, he was arrested, beaten and sentenced to death. While in prison, Valentine healed the jailer's daughter from blindness. Before he was executed, Valentine wrote a note to the girl wishing her happiness, signing the letter "Your Valentine." Feast Day: February 14 Show more
